BLUE KNIGHTS SRC SPRING 2010 HOSTED BY FLORIDA XVIII  SARASOTA / MANATEE COUNTIES FLORIDA:
Contact: spring2010src@verizon.net WEB SITE  www.blueknightsflxviii.com
Hello my name is Rory Mac Connell. I am the President of Florida XVIII Manatee and Sarasota counties. Our membership is hosting the 2010 Spring SRC, and we are very excited to have our Blue Knight Brother’s, Sister’s and family traveling to our beautiful area for the conference. The host hotel will be the Holiday House Venice Florida it is an independently owned property. They have 145 rooms that will be $69.99 + tax for the SRC. Breakfast will not be included in the room rate, our chapter decided to keep the room rate down that we would have a breakfast buffet available to all Blue Knights, not just hotel guests for $6.99. Our secondary hotel, a Hampton Inn is 1 mile from this property. We have 2 camping areas for motor coaches with in 5 miles of the property, coaches will be given space Saturday night at the host hotel parking lot (no hook ups) if requested.             We will have a large glass enclosed hospitality hall adjacent to the banquet room, just inside the inner court yard. The inner court yard has a heated pool and spa, a sand volleyball court and 2 shuffle board courts, which we will be converting to tricycle drag race course. We will have a dunk tank set up for the new SRC board members and myself to get wet during the evening festivities. We are planning a pool party for Friday night with a D.J. and some surprise’s. There is a patio area and 2 gas grills for guest’s use at any time.  We are across the street from a supermarket, Arby’s, Taco bell, McDonald’s, Burger King, pizza hut, Sonny’ BBQ restaurant and a few local restaurant’s in walking distance as well. All rooms have a small fridge and microwave. The local Budweiser distributor will be assisting with decorations and libations for our event. The facility is located 5 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico for the most beautiful West Coast ocean sun set’s outside of the California Coast.    We are planning a ride for Friday through Myakka State Park and a BBQ lunch on south Lido beach; bring your bathing suits. We have many beach rides planned as well as many local attractions. For the animal lover’s we have the Mote Marine Research facilities and aquarium and the Big Cat Preserve. At Myakka Park they have the largest air boat in Florida; it can hold 35 people to tour the lake and view the gators and wildlife. We have 2 daytime sea marine tour boats and the Le Barge sunset cruise. We have arrangements with the Flying Fish Fleet for a Saturday 1/2 day fishing trip (reduced FEE).              We have a large Art District in Sarasota and Bradenton which includes the John Ringling Museum and Marie Selby Gardens in Sarasota, and the South Florida Museum in Bradenton. We have a world renowned Botanical Artist in our club Olivia Chiusano and Victoria Anderson is known nationally in the art world and run’s a gallery in the Art District in Sarasota and will assist our guest’s in navigating these areas. We will have a guided ride on Saturday by Florida XVI Ft Myers /Port Charlotte to Punta Gorda harbor and a guided ride to the Tampa Hard Rock casino by our chapter. We will be providing maps to popular local ride spots such as, The Rosa Fiorrela winery, the Ellenton Outlet Center, Downtown Sarasota with St Armand’s Circle, Linger Lodge on the Bradenton River, Boca Grande Island, as well as the many scenic restaurants and of course ride the beaches from Anna Marie Island to Manasota Key. I hope to see you at the SRC Spring 2010
Thank You
Rory Mac Connell, President
